Often in life, we give only when we felt we can give or we only give with the intention of something in return. We work very hard and we tried to be even more efficient in the things we do but many times we fail to achieve the goals that we set. We always think about “how can I have more?”, which is a ‘go-getter’ mindset, but this little book by Bob Burg and John David Mann reversed all those mindset and shared that the more value you give to others, the more you will get in return.
Through a fictional story of an ambitious young man, Joe who was desperate to nail a big deal for a bad quarter, we embarked on a journey with him to learn 5 important laws through a series of ‘go-givers’ who opened him up to the power of giving.
The Law of Value – Your real worth is defined by how much more value you give than how much you get paid.
The Law of Compensation – Your income is decided by the number of people you serve and how well you serve them.
The Law of Influence – Your influence is defined by how often and how much you focus on others’ interest first.
The Law of Authenticity – The biggest and most valuable gift you can offer is yourself.
The Law of Receptivity – To give effectively, you must be open to receive.
